The Urban Regatta celebrates the artists, small businesses, and neighbors that have made Historic Castleberry Hill the most dynamic and vibrant community in Atlanta. For almost a decade, the event has evolved to become Atlanta’s newest neighborhood festival featuring an artist market, live music and performances, pop-up galleries and the main event, a boat race that relies on bicycles and grit instead of motors and sails. The festival will benefit the STEAMsport Program at the John Hope Community Center and Bearing Bike Works Kid’s Programs.
The event is FREE to attend! Only those wishing to build their very own #BikeBoat must register!
Giving Back by Supporting Youth: STEAMsport + Bearing Bike Works!
The John Hope Community Center hosts STEAMsport, a 501-C3 non profit organization with the mission of providing science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) exposure, engagement and education to youth living in underserved communities in a fun and competitive environment. STEAMsport is breaking the cycle of generational poverty through accessible and effective STEAM programming that will open the doors to secondary education and STEAM related careers.
Bearings Bike Works is a 501-C3 non profit organization focused on providing children with the tools and hands-on learning opportunities to develop technical skills, soft skills and character strengths. And they use bikes to do it! Although the prospect of earning a bike is what draws kids to the program, the excitement of learning new skills and being a part of a community keeps them returning, week after week.

Regatta heats begin and launch every 5 minutes. Ports of Call Watch Parties and Live Commentary from the stage. Who will win the Urban Regatta cup??

Regatta and Boat Show winners announced on stage followed by live music.
